TNNLU Launches National Essay Writing Competition on AI & Cyber Privacy | Register by June 5

CRDT-CLCS Encourages Students to Explore Challenges to Rights and Privacy in Cyberspace

June 2, 2025 | Tiruchirappalli — The Centre for Research, Development, and Training in Cyber Laws and Cyber Security (CRDT-CLCS) at Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU) is organizing a National Essay Writing Competition on the theme “Challenges to Rights and Privacy in AI and Cyberspace.”

The competition aims to stimulate critical thought and legal analysis among students on pressing issues related to privacy, data protection, and ethical implications of artificial intelligence and digital technologies.

About TNNLU & CRDT-CLCS

Established under Act No. 9 of 2012 by the Government of Tamil Nadu, TNNLU is a premier institution for legal education. The CRDT-CLCS, formed in 2022 with state government support, is dedicated to cyber law research, awareness, and capacity building. It regularly organizes webinars, training sessions, competitions, and national conferences focused on cyber security, digital rights, and legal literacy in technology.

About the Competition

The National Essay Writing Competition offers participants a chance to engage deeply with issues related to AI, digital rights, and online privacy, addressing both theoretical challenges and real-world policy concerns. This is an online competition with separate categories for school and college students.

Eligibility Criteria

• College Students: Open to students pursuing UG or PG degrees from any recognized college or university in India.
• School Students: Open to students currently in Class 9–12 or entering Class 9–12 in the upcoming academic year.

Note: Both school and college students will be evaluated in separate categories.

Theme and Essay Topic

The central theme is: “Challenges to Rights and Privacy in AI and Cyberspace”

• The specific essay topic will be announced on 6th June 2025, two days before the submission deadline.
