The program is designed to foster mutual learning — enabling students to gain insights into the functioning of a government institution, while NITI Aayog benefits from fresh academic perspectives and research inputs from young professionals.
🕒 Duration: Minimum 6 weeks and up to 6 months.
Each intern is placed under the guidance of a senior officer or mentor at NITI Aayog and is expected to work on specific projects aligned with the organization’s goals and divisions such as:
- Governance and Public Policy,
- Economics and Finance,
- Energy and Infrastructure,
- Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),
- Social Justice and Education, and more.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
Bonafide students of recognized universities or institutions — in India or abroad — who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply:
📘 For Undergraduate Students:
- Must have completed or appeared in the term-end exams of the 2nd year / 4th semester of their Bachelor’s degree program.
- Must have secured not less than 85% marks in Class 12th or equivalent.
📗 For Graduate Students (Postgraduate Level):
- Must have completed or appeared in the term-end exams of the first year / 2nd semester of their Postgraduate program, or be pursuing Research / Ph.D..
- Must have secured not less than 70% marks in Graduation.
📙 For Recent Graduates / Postgraduates:
- Students who have completed their final exams and are awaiting admission for higher studies may also apply.
- They must have secured a minimum of 70% aggregate marks in their degree.
- The period between the declaration of final results and the desired internship month should not exceed 6 months (for instance, if results are declared in June, the internship should start by December).

💼 Nature of Work and Exposure

Important Instructions:
- Applications must be submitted by 10th November 2025.
- The internship can be applied for up to 6 months in advance but not later than 2 months before the desired month of joining.
