The National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG), under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Government of India, has launched its Internship Programme 2024. This is an excellent opportunity for students and recent graduates passionate about public policy, governance, and administrative reforms.
About the NCGG Internship Programme
The NCGG Internship Programme is a short-term engagement designed to offer meaningful exposure to various sectors of governance. The duration of the internship ranges from a minimum of 8 weeks to a maximum of 6 months. Interns will be placed with different verticals and units of the NCGG and will gain practical experience by contributing to projects and research in diverse thematic areas.
Who Can Apply?
The programme is open to a broad spectrum of Indian students, both within the country and abroad. Eligibility criteria include:
- Graduates, postgraduates, students pursuing PG Diplomas, advanced academic degrees, or those awaiting final degree results in the same academic year.
- Final-year students of integrated 4 or 5-year law or engineering courses are also eligible.
- The upper age limit is 30 years at the time of application.
- Applicants must upload a Letter of Recommendation from their university or institution.

Interns can choose from a wide range of fields related to governance and development, such as:
- Public Policy & Governance
- Education, Health, and Sanitation
- E-Governance and Public Service Delivery
- Laws and Regulations

Duration and Support
- Internship duration: 8 weeks to 6 months
- Interns are expected to arrange their own travel, accommodation, and laptops.
- NCGG will provide workspace, internet, and necessary office support.
Stipend and Certification
Interns will receive a monthly honorarium of ₹10,000 (on a pro-rata basis) depending on their contribution and progress. Upon successful completion, interns will be awarded an experience certificate, based on an evaluation by the supervisor and committee.
Termination Clause
NCGG reserves the right to terminate any internship at any point without assigning a reason. Interns can also opt to exit the programme by submitting a one-week prior notice.
