KV Old Cantt Organizes Youth Parliament Workshop for Humanities Students

Interactive session enhances understanding of democratic processes among students of Classes 9 & 12

Prayagraj, May 2, 2025 — Kendriya Vidyalaya Old Cantt hosted an insightful Youth Parliament workshop for Humanities stream students of Class 9 and 12 on Friday, May 2. The session was conducted by Anurag Dwivedi, Anjali Sharma, and Aditya Pratap Singh, who guided the students through the core principles and practices of the Indian parliamentary system.

The primary aim of the workshop was to simulate a real parliamentary environment, offering students an opportunity to experience the responsibilities and procedures of elected representatives. The facilitators explained that a Youth Parliament is a mock session where students act as Members of Parliament, engage in debates, raise questions, propose bills, and participate in decision-making processes under a presiding Speaker.

Through engaging examples and interactive explanations, students explored the structure of a typical session, including:

• Question Hour
• Introduction and Debate of Bills
• Role of the Speaker and Parliamentary Etiquette
• Voting and Legislative Protocols

The workshop focused on instilling democratic values, improving public speaking, critical thinking, and leadership skills.

Students actively participated in the session, showcasing curiosity and enthusiasm. Many expressed a keen interest in participating in future Youth Parliament events, indicating the success of the workshop in inspiring civic awareness.

The session concluded with a vibrant Q&A interaction, allowing students to clarify doubts, share feedback, and discuss ideas for practical implementation of their learning.

प्रयागराज, 2 मई 2025 — केंद्रीय विद्यालय ओल्ड कैंट में कक्षा 9वीं और 12वीं (ह्यूमैनिटीज़ स्ट्रीम) के छात्रों के लिए 2 मई को यूथ पार्लियामेंट पर एक विचारोत्तेजक कार्यशाला का आयोजन किया गया। इस सत्र का संचालन अनुराग द्विवेदी, अंजलि शर्मा और आदित्य प्रताप सिंह द्वारा किया गया, जिन्होंने छात्रों को भारतीय संसदीय प्रणाली की गहराई से जानकारी दी।

इस कार्यशाला का उद्देश्य छात्रों को संसद की कार्यप्रणाली को प्रयोगात्मक अनुभव के माध्यम से समझाना था। वक्ताओं ने बताया कि यूथ पार्लियामेंट एक ऐसा मंच है जहाँ छात्र संसद सदस्यों की भूमिका निभाते हैं और बहस, प्रश्न पूछने, विधेयक प्रस्तुत करने और निर्णय लेने की प्रक्रिया में भाग लेते हैं।

सत्र में प्रमुख रूप से निम्न विषयों को कवर किया गया:

• अध्यक्ष की भूमिका और संसदीय शिष्टाचार
• वोटिंग और विधायी प्रक्रिया

इस कार्यशाला का उद्देश्य छात्रों में लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों, सार्वजनिक वक्तृत्व, तार्किक सोच, और नेतृत्व क्षमता को विकसित करना था।

सत्र में छात्रों की सक्रिय भागीदारी रही। उन्होंने खुलकर सवाल पूछे और भविष्य में यूथ पार्लियामेंट जैसे आयोजनों में भाग लेने की इच्छा जताई।
