📌 Maharashtra’s Youngest NLU Hosts First National Antitrust Moot with CCI
Recognizing the pressing need for strong legal education and specialized expertise in competition law, Maharashtra National Law University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (MNLU-CS) has announced its 1st CCI-MNLUCS National Antitrust Moot Court Competition 2025 in collaboration with the Competition Commission of India (CCI).
The competition is a major step in promoting critical dialogue and skilled advocacy in India’s evolving antitrust law framework. It is organized by the Moot Court Association and Centre for Competition Law and Policy (CCLP) of MNLU-CS.
The event not only symbolizes MNLU-CS’s growing academic influence but also fulfills its mission to produce advocates trained in tackling contemporary competition law issues. Since its inception in 2017, the university has been steadily rising as a center of legal excellence.
🏛️ About the Moot: Bridging Antitrust and Advocacy
The moot court competition aims to cultivate research aptitude, articulate argumentation, and build jurisprudential understanding among law students. It offers a platform to engage with antitrust issues that are vital to India’s business and regulatory environment.
This hybrid-format competition ensures wider accessibility while retaining the experience of real-world courtroom advocacy.
Preliminary and Quarter-Final Rounds will be conducted online on 6th and 7th September 2025, while Semi-Final and Final Rounds will take place on 28th September 2025 at the university campus in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (earlier Aurangabad), Maharashtra.

👨🎓 Eligibility & Team Composition
- Open to all students currently enrolled in a 3-year or 5-year undergraduate law program.
- Maximum two teams per institution are allowed.
- Teams must have 2 or 3 members: two speakers and one researcher. Two-member teams must share speaker/researcher roles.
Only 40 teams will be selected on a first-come-first-serve basis. Team composition must be finalized during registration. Changes are allowed only under special circumstances with prior approval.
💵 Registration Fees (Two-Stage)
Stage I: ₹4500 per team at the time of initial registration for the virtual rounds.
Stage II: ₹3000 per qualifying team for the offline Semi-Finals & Finals (includes food and accommodation).
Official communication will be sent via email to the designated team contact person registered during the application process.
🏆 Awards & Prizes
- 🥇 Winner Team: Trophy + ₹40,000 cash + 1-year SCC Online subscription (worth ₹24,000 per member)
- 🥈 Runner-up Team: Trophy + ₹20,000 cash
- 🎤 Best Speaker: Trophy + ₹10,000
- 📄 Best Memorial (Informant): Trophy + ₹10,000
- 📄 Best Memorial (Opposite Party): Trophy + ₹10,000
Additionally, all participants will receive a 1-month SCC Online Web Edition access (worth ₹1099/-) and certificates of participation/merit based on performance.
