🎓 Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

• Degree in Law from a recognized university

2. Experience (Any one of the following)

• Minimum 3 years practice as an Advocate (counted from Bar Council enrollment)
• OR minimum 3 years as Public Prosecutor / Government Advocate
• OR minimum 3 years service (after LLB) in:
  • High Court or subordinate courts
  • Offices of Government Pleaders
  • Legal Department (as Legal Assistant or above)

👉 Experience as Law Clerk will also be counted

3. Age Limit (as on 30 April 2026)

• Minimum: 21 years
• Maximum:
  • 35 years (General)
  • 40 years (for certain categories like Govt. service candidates)

🗣️ Language Requirement

• Must have proficiency in Marathi:
  • Speak, read, and write fluently
  • Ability to translate Marathi ↔ English
• Certificate required at interview stage

📝 Selection Process

The recruitment will be conducted in three stages:

1. Preliminary Examination

• Objective (MCQs)
• Marks: 100
• Screening test (marks not counted in final merit)

• Evidence Act / Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam
• Constitution of India
• Transfer of Property Act
• Specific Relief Act

• BNSS

👉 Candidates approx. 10× vacancies will be shortlisted for mains

2. Main Examination

• Descriptive (Written)
• Total Marks: 200 (2 Papers × 100 marks)

Paper 1:

• CPC
• TPA
• Specific Relief
• Contract, Sale of Goods, Partnership

Paper 2:

• IPC
• CrPC
• Evidence Act
• SC/ST Atrocities Act
• Protection of Civil Rights Act
• Essay (800 words)
• BNS, BNSS, BSA

Qualifying Marks:

• General: 50 marks per paper
• Reserved: 45%

3. Interview

• Marks: 50
• Minimum qualifying:
  • 40% (General)
  • 35% (PwD)

• Final merit list valid for 1 year
• Waiting list up to 10% of vacancies
• Reservation applicable only to Maharashtra domicile candidates
