The Office of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Karnataka & Goa Region, on behalf of the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT), has released an official notification inviting applications for the engagement of Young Professionals under the Young Professional Scheme of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).

This engagement aims to strengthen departmental representation before tribunals by involving young legal and accountancy professionals with strong academic backgrounds and domain knowledge.

The Young Professionals will assist the Income Tax Department in:

  • Preparation of cases admitted for hearing before ITAT and other tribunals
  • Legal research and study work in critical areas of tax litigation
  • Supporting departmental officers in effective litigation management

This is a contractual, full-time engagement offering valuable exposure to tax litigation at a national tribunal level.

🎓 Educational Qualification

Essential Qualification:

Candidates must be Indian Nationals possessing any one of the following:

  • Graduate or Post Graduate degree in Law (LL.B./LL.M.) from a recognized University/Institution
    OR
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)

📌 Minimum Marks Requirement:

  • At least 50% marks in:
    • 3-Year LL.B.
    • 5-Year Integrated LL.B.
    • Post Graduation degree program
    • Chartered Accountancy qualification


🎯 Age Limit

  • Maximum Age: 35 years
  • Age will be calculated as on the date of advertisement.
