Students protesting amid sever failure at the City Modern Academy, Lucknow . |
Prayagraj/Lucknow, June 13, 2025 — The LLB and LLM entrance examinations under the University of Allahabad’s PGAT-2025 witnessed chaos at the City Modern Academy online centre in Lucknow after a server failure delayed the exam by nearly an hour. The disruption led to confusion among students, with many mistakenly alleging a paper leak, triggering protests outside the examination venue.
The entrance exams were scheduled from 9:30 AM to 11:40 AM, but due to the server outage, candidates were unable to access their question papers. This technical issue caused unrest among aspirants, with several staging a protest and raising slogans against what they believed was an incident of paper leak.
However, the University of Allahabad administration has officially clarified that no paper leak occurred. The delay was strictly due to a server-related technical issue at the Lucknow centre. The exam resumed at approximately 10:30 AM after the problem was resolved.
At the City Modern Academy centre, 443 candidates were registered for the LLB and LLM exams, with 373 (86%) appearing. University-wide, the PGAT-2025 was conducted in two shifts across 40 centres — 26 online and 14 offline. For the LLB and LLM courses, 12,432 out of 14,564 registered students appeared (85% attendance), while the M.Com exam saw 885 of 976 candidates present (91% attendance).
