BHU UG Registration Crosses 50,000 Within Three Days
Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has recorded an impressive response to its undergraduate admission process. Within just three days of the registration portal going live, over 50,000 candidates have registered for UG courses.
The admission portal became functional late on Wednesday night around 9 PM, and since then, registrations and student inquiries have surged from across the country. Xxx
PG Admission Update: Over 5,500 Students Secure Seats
Simultaneously, the postgraduate (PG) admission process is also ongoing. By Saturday, 5,520 PG candidates had successfully locked in their seats by submitting the required admission fee.
According to university officials, both the UG registration process and PG second seat allotment phase are happening in parallel. On day one of the UG registration, 25,000 students signed up, followed by 41,271 on the second day. This rising trend signals a possible record number of UG admissions this year, compared to previous years where over 2,000 seats remained vacant. Xxx
Nearly 2,400 PG Seats Still Vacant
Despite the strong PG admission turnout, approximately 2,400 seats are still vacant. These include seats in the main campus, Women's College, South Campus, and affiliated colleges.
University sources are optimistic that all seats will be filled through the four proposed rounds of PG seat allocation. Xxx
College-Level UG Admissions Also in Progress
At affiliated colleges like UP College, the UG admission process is also in full swing. On Saturday, B.Sc. Mathematics and Biology admissions took place for students listed in the main merit list.
Out of 420 B.Sc. Math seats, 227 were filled, and 242 out of 420 B.Sc. Biology seats were also taken. Admissions for B.Com and B.Sc. Agriculture through the waiting list are scheduled to begin Sunday onwards. Xxx
Important Deadlines and Document Requirements
Principal Prof. Dharmendra Kumar Singh stated that counseling sessions are being held at the Vigyan Bhawan (Science Building). Students are given two days to pay their admission fee post-counseling. If the fee is not submitted in time, the admission will be automatically canceled.
According to Deputy Controller of Entrance Exams Dr. D.D. Singh and Prof. Abhishek Singh, on July 21, leftover candidates from the main list for B.Sc. Agriculture and B.Com can take admission between 10 AM to 12 Noon. Afterward, remaining seats will be filled using the waiting list. Xxx
Documents Required for Final Admission
Applicants are required to present original and photocopies of all certificates, along with Transfer Certificate (TC), anti-ragging affidavit, and admission fee receipts for final enrollment. Missing any of these documents can result in cancellation of the admission offer.
BHU continues to provide real-time updates on the admission portal and urges students to check the dashboard and official websites regularly to avoid missing any crucial deadlines. Xxx
With BHU witnessing overwhelming participation in both UG and PG admissions, this year’s intake is expected to be higher than previous years. Candidates are advised to follow all instructions and deadlines carefully to ensure successful enrollment in their desired course.
