🏛️ About NHRC
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of India, established on 12 October 1993 under the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993, is a statutory body dedicated to the protection and promotion of human rights in India — rights relating to life, liberty, equality, and dignity of the individual.
The Commission plays a vital role in spreading human rights literacy and awareness as mandated under Section 12(h) of the Act.
📚 About the Internship
The Winter Internship Programme (WIP) 2025 by NHRC is a 4-week intensive training designed to educate and engage students in the field of human rights and justice.
This year’s internship will run from:
🗓️ 15 December 2025 (Monday) to 9 January 2026 (Friday)
The programme includes lectures by human rights experts, visits to institutions, discussions, and project work — providing interns with meaningful insight into the working of NHRC and its initiatives.
👩🏻🎓 Number of Seats
- 80 students will be selected nationwide.
- 20 additional candidates from Delhi-NCR will be kept on the waitlist to fill any dropouts within the first two days of the internship.
🧾 Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Pursuing LLB (3-year): Completed 1st year and currently in 2nd or 3rd year.
- Pursuing BA LLB / BBA LLB (5-year): Completed 3 years or 6 semesters, currently in 4th or 5th year.
- Pursuing LLM, PG Diploma in Human Rights, or related PG programs (Political Science, Sociology, MSW, Public Administration, History, Economics, Mass Communication, International Relations, etc.).
- Only students from UGC-recognized universities are eligible.
- Minimum 65% marks in Class XII and all subsequent semesters.
- Maximum age: 28 years (as on 01.10.2025).
- Must attach a Letter of Recommendation (LOR) signed and stamped by HOD/Dean/Principal (Annexure-I format).
- Must submit a 250-word write-up (Statement of Purpose) on “Reason for joining as an Intern in NHRC” during application.
- Reservation policy as per Govt. of India applies (SC/ST/OBC/PwD).
📌 Note: Students who have already attended NHRC’s regular one-month internship earlier are not eligible to apply again.

- Scanned attested copies of mark sheets (10th, 12th, all semesters of graduation and current course).

- Recommendation letter (with stamp/signature of HOD/Dean/Principal).
