The Chief Justice of India, Hon’ble Justice B.R. Gavai, arrived in Prayagraj on Friday evening by chartered plane to attend a series of academic and institutional events. Accompanied by Chief Justice Arun Bhansali of the Allahabad High Court, Justice Gavai’s visit highlights a significant engagement between the judiciary and academia.
Morning Engagement in Kaushambi
On Saturday morning, the Chief Justice will grace the annual function of Madhavari Prasad Intermediate College (Aalmchand), Kaushambi, as the Chief Guest.
The institution was established in 1966 by Devendranath, father of Supreme Court Justice Vikram Nath, in memory of his father. Justice Gavai will address the gathering, emphasizing the transformative power of education and its role in promoting constitutional values and social equality.
Inauguration of New Academic Buildings at Allahabad University
At 4:00 PM, the Chief Justice will visit the Senate Campus of Allahabad University, where he will inaugurate three newly constructed buildings —
- New Community Building,
- Lecture Theatre Complex, and
- New Library Building.
The inauguration ceremony will take place at the Ishwar Topa Auditorium, attended by distinguished judges, academicians, and university officials.
Seminar on “Constitution and Constitutionalism: The Philosophy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar”
Following the inauguration, CJI Gavai will deliver the keynote address at a national seminar on
“Constitution and Constitutionalism: The Philosophy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.”
The seminar, organized by Allahabad University, aims to explore Dr. Ambedkar’s vision of constitutional morality, social justice, equality, and fraternity — principles that continue to guide India’s democratic governance and jurisprudence.
Chief Justice Arun Bhansali of the Allahabad High Court will also be present as a distinguished guest, along with several eminent jurists and legal scholars.
