3rd Edition National Mock CIRP Competition 2026 | GNLU–NeSL–ILA

The Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) Centre for Corporate and Insolvency Law (GCCIL), in collaboration with the Insolvency Law Academy (ILA) and National E-Governance Services Limited (NeSL) – India’s first Information Utility – is organizing the 3rd Edition of the National Mock Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) Competition, 2026.

🏛 About the Organizers

🔹 Gujarat National Law University (GNLU)

Established in 2003 under the Gujarat National Law University Act, GNLU is a premier statutory university recognized for excellence in legal education, research, and training. It was ranked among the top law schools in India in the NIRF 2025 rankings.

🔹 GNLU Centre for Corporate and Insolvency Law (GCCIL)

Established in 2012, GCCIL functions as a Centre of Excellence focusing on corporate and insolvency laws. The Centre actively promotes research, policy engagement, skill-building, and professional training in insolvency law.

🔹 Insolvency Law Academy (ILA)

ILA is a leading research and training institute dedicated to advancing insolvency law scholarship, innovation, and professional standards within the insolvency ecosystem.

🔹 National E-Governance Services Limited (NeSL)

NeSL is India’s first Information Utility regulated by the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI). It plays a critical role in India’s insolvency framework by maintaining authenticated financial information used in insolvency proceedings.

⚖ About the Competition

The Mock CIRP Competition is designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical insolvency proceedings.

Participants will:

  • Assume roles of Insolvency Professionals (IRP/RP)
  • Draft a legally sound and commercially viable Resolution Plan
  • Prepare a CIRP Dossier
  • Present their strategy before a simulated Committee of Creditors (CoC)
  • Face adjudication before a mock National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT)

The competition replicates real-world insolvency resolution proceedings, including creditor voting and commercial decision-making.

  • Last Date for Registration: 1 March 2026
  • Release of Problem: 2 March 2026
  • Last Date to Seek Clarifications: 7 March 2026
  • Last Date for Submission of Dossier & Resolution Plan: 22 March 2026

  • Preliminary Rounds: 28 March 2026
  • Final Round & Valedictory Ceremony: 29 March 2026
