NLU Delhi’s IPR Chair Invites Applications for 10th Flagship Internship Programme; Stipend ₹10,000 Per Month

The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Chair at National Law University Delhi has invited applications for the tenth edition of its flagship Internship Programme. The programme offers law students an opportunity to work across areas including intellectual property, research, government and policy, and corporate and MSME-related matters.

The Centre for Innovation, Intellectual Property and Competition (CIIPC) at NLU Delhi works at the intersection of innovation, intellectual property and competition, with a focus on academic and policy-oriented research.

About the Centre for Innovation, Intellectual Property and Competition

The Centre for Innovation, Intellectual Property and Competition (CIIPC) was established at National Law University Delhi to promote academic and policy-oriented dialogue in the areas of innovation, intellectual property (IP) and competition.

The Centre undertakes research on contemporary issues including open science, open innovation, the relationship between IP and startups, patents and competition law, and other emerging issues in intellectual property and innovation policy.

About the Internship

The IPR Chair at NLU Delhi is inviting applications for the 10th edition of its flagship Internship Programme.

Selected interns will have the opportunity to work across four specialised verticals:

• Graduate Education
• Research & Writing
• Government & Policy
• MSME & Corporate

The programme is intended for students interested in developing practical exposure to IPR research, legal writing, policy work and corporate intellectual property matters.

CIIPC's internship programme is conducted in offline mode, and its published internship guidelines require interns to complete at least four weeks while also advising applicants to apply well in advance of their preferred internship period.

Eligibility

Students currently enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate degree programmes in Law are eligible to apply.

Applicants should note that CIIPC's general internship guidelines also require candidates to have either studied Intellectual Property Rights as a subject or successfully completed the L2PRO India E-Learning Programme (Basic Level).

Internship Verticals

The internship programme will offer opportunities across:

1. Graduate Education

Interns may work on initiatives relating to legal education and academic activities in the field of intellectual property.

2. Research & Writing

This vertical provides exposure to legal research, academic writing and contemporary issues relating to intellectual property and innovation.

3. Government & Policy

Interns may gain exposure to policy-oriented work and government-related initiatives concerning intellectual property, innovation and competition.

4. MSME & Corporate

This vertical focuses on issues concerning MSMEs, businesses and corporate intellectual property matters.

Stipend

Selected interns will receive a stipend of:

₹10,000 per month

The stipend will be subject to satisfactory performance and completion of all formalities.

Duration

The internship will be for a period of 1 to 3 months.

The internship is available between September and December 2026.
