Kashi Youth Summit 2025 to be Held at Banaras Hindu University on April 16–17

Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, is set to host the prestigious Kashi Youth Summit 2025, themed “Resolve 2.0 Resort,” bringing together young minds from across the nation for policy-driven dialogue and simulation of democratic institutions.

Overview of the Event

The Kashi Youth Summit, a prominent youth-led parliamentary simulation platform, is scheduled for April 16 and 17, 2025. The event promises two days of intense deliberation and thought-provoking discussions on some of the most critical issues concerning India's polity, governance, and security.

Organized with the support of Legal Chariot as the official student partner, the summit aims to empower youth participation in political discourse and policy formulation by simulating real-time parliamentary environments.

Committees and Agendas

The summit features four major committees, each assigned with a powerful and relevant agenda that reflects real-time national and regional concerns. Here’s a detailed breakdown:

1. Lok Sabha

Agenda: Discussion on Caste-Based Census and Introduction of the Population Control Bill

This committee will delve into the sensitive and long-debated issue of conducting a caste-based census in India. Delegates will also discuss the need for a Population Control Bill, evaluating its societal implications and feasibility in a democratic setup.

2. U.P. Vidhan Sabha

Agenda: Deliberation on Area-Based Politics with Special Emphasis on the Future Formation of Purvanchal, Awadh Pradesh, and Paschim Pradesh

The session will explore the growing demand for decentralization within Uttar Pradesh, evaluating the potential for forming separate states like Purvanchal, Awadh Pradesh, and Paschim Pradesh to ensure better administration and representation.

3. AIPPM (All India Political Parties Meet)

Agenda: Deliberation on the Statehood of Jammu & Kashmir with Special Emphasis on the Inclusion of Ladakh into the Sixth Schedule

In a politically charged discussion, the AIPPM will tackle the future of Jammu & Kashmir, focusing on its statehood restoration and Ladakh’s possible inclusion under the Sixth Schedule to protect tribal rights and ensure autonomy.

4. JPS (Joint Parliamentary Session)

Agenda: Review of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) with Special Focus on Militancy and Extremism

With rising concerns over national security and human rights, this session will critically review the UAPA’s current application, seeking reforms while maintaining a strong stance against terrorism and extremism.

A Platform for Future Leaders

The Kashi Youth Summit is more than just a Model Parliament. It is a breeding ground for the next generation of policymakers, debaters, and changemakers. By simulating the workings of India's legislative bodies, the event will not only sharpen analytical and public speaking skills but also encourage civic responsibility among youth.

Registration and Participation

Students from universities and institutions across India are encouraged to register for the event and experience parliamentary functioning firsthand. Participation certificates, networking opportunities, and panel discussions with eminent personalities will add further value to the attendees’ experience.
