4th Justice Gopalji Mehrotra National Moot Court Competition 2026: Check Dates, Prizes, Registration and Other Details

The Saroj Lalji Mehrotra Centre of Legal Studies, S.S. Khanna Girls' Degree College, Prayagraj, a constituent college of the University of Allahabad, is organising the 4th Justice Gopalji Mehrotra National Moot Court Competition, 2026 on November 12–13, 2026.

The national-level moot court competition is being organised in collaboration with Chandhiok & Mahajan, with SCC Online as the Exclusive Knowledge Partner and SCC Times as the Exclusive Media Partner.

The competition aims to provide law students with an opportunity to strengthen their legal research, critical thinking, memorial drafting and oral advocacy skills, while gaining practical exposure to the process of presenting legal arguments.

4th Justice Gopalji Mehrotra Moot Court Competition 2026

The competition is designed to encourage aspiring legal professionals to develop essential advocacy skills, including:

• Legal Research
• Critical Thinking and Legal Analysis
• Memorial Drafting
• Oral Advocacy
• Persuasion and Argumentation

The event will bring together law students from different institutions for a national-level platform to test their research and advocacy abilities.

Prizes and Awards

The competition offers a total of several cash prizes and additional recognition for outstanding performances.

Winner: ₹2,00,000

In addition to the cash prize, each member of the winning team will receive a one-year complimentary SCC Online Web Edition subscription worth ₹32,000.

Runner-Up: ₹1,00,000

Special awards have also been announced for individual achievements:

• Best Memorial: ₹30,000
• Best Speaker: ₹30,000
• Best Researcher: ₹30,000

Participants will also receive one-month access to the SCC Online Web Edition worth ₹3,100 each.

Accommodation and Hospitality

The organisers will provide participants with local transportation and accommodation for two nights and three days during the competition.

This provision is expected to make participation more convenient for teams travelling to Prayagraj from different parts of the country.
