VC Prof. Sangita Srivastava inaugurates board featuring 256 distinguished names at Vizianagaram Hall

In a heartfelt tribute to its illustrious alumni, the University of Allahabad today unveiled a Roll of Honour board at the historic Vizianagaram Hall. The board features the names of 256 former students who have made remarkable contributions across various fields, including politics, law, literature, art, education, and administration.

A Symbol of Pride and Legacy

The event was led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sangita Srivastava, who formally inaugurated the board. In her address, Prof. Srivastava highlighted the deep significance of the initiative, stating that the Roll of Honour board serves as a powerful symbol of the university’s rich academic tradition and the exceptional legacy of its alumni.

She further noted that the choice of location—Vizianagaram Hall—was deliberate, as the hall itself embodies the university’s historical and cultural heritage. “By installing the alumni board here, we are uniting two key pillars of the university’s proud history,” she said.

The newly installed board showcases the achievements of former students who have brought glory to the institution and contributed to the progress of the nation. The Roll of Honour board was conceptualized by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sangita Srivastava and was prepared under the supervision of Prof. Arun Jaitley, Head of the Department of Visual Arts. The design and presentation of the board reflect both aesthetic excellence and historical significance, aligning with the university's vision of honoring its past while inspiring its future.

Warm Reception and Presence of Dignitaries

Earlier in the event, the Vice-Chancellor was warmly welcomed by Registrar Prof. Ashish Khare and Prof. Kumar Virendra, Secretary of the University of Allahabad Alumni Association. The event witnessed the presence of numerous faculty members and administrative officers, underlining the collective pride in this commemorative initiative.
