UGC NET June 2025: NTA Extends Last Date for Application Submission, Exam Likely Between June 21–30

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the last date for the submission of the online application form for the University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) June 2025. Candidates aspiring to appear for the exam can now apply till 12 May 2025 (11:59 PM).
Revised Dates for Application, Fee Payment, and Correction Window
As per the revised schedule released by NTA, candidates can submit their online application form by 12 May 2025, while the last date for the submission of the examination fee is 13 May 2025 (11:59 PM). The application correction window will remain open from 14 May to 15 May 2025.
Meanwhile, the UGC-NET June 2025 exam is tentatively scheduled to be held from 21 June to 30 June 2025, across various centers in India.
Application Fee Based on Category
The application fee for UGC-NET June 2025 differs based on the candidate’s category:
- General category: ₹1150
- EWS/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): ₹600
- SC/ST/PwD category: ₹325
Candidates can pay the examination fee using debit card, credit card, net banking, or e-challan.
Eligibility Criteria for UGC-NET June 2025
To appear for the UGC-NET exam, candidates must have completed a Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories such as SC/ST/OBC/PwD).
Candidates who are in the final year of their Master’s program or awaiting results are also eligible to apply.
Additionally, under the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020, candidates with a 4-year undergraduate degree are also eligible to appear for the UGC-NET exam.
Age Limit for JRF and NET
- For Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), the maximum age limit is 31 years (relaxation applicable for reserved categories).
- For NET (Assistant Professor eligibility only), there is no upper age limit.
