UPPSC RO/ARO 2023 Typing Test Font Options Announced

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has issued an official notification regarding the computer typing test for the Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) Examination 2023. The notice brings important information for all candidates appearing in the upcoming typing test phase of the recruitment process.
Typing Test to Offer Font Options
According to the latest directive (Ref No. 10/15/E-4/2023-2024), dated May 16, 2025, the Commission has decided to offer multiple font choices to candidates in the computer-based typing test. Traditionally, the Kruti Dev 010 font is used for Hindi typing tests. However, in a candidate-friendly move, UPPSC has now introduced an additional option: Mangal font with Inscript keyboard layout.
Font Options Available for Hindi Typing
Candidates will now have the option to choose between the following fonts during the Hindi typing test:
- Kruti Dev 010
- Mangal (Inscript)
This change ensures flexibility for candidates who are more comfortable with different Hindi typing layouts and aims to create a level playing field, especially for those trained in Inscript typing.
Applicable for RO/ARO 2023 (General/Special Selection)
The update applies to both General and Special Selection categories under the RO/ARO 2023 examination. The Commission has clarified that this flexibility will be available for all candidates appearing in the computer typing test stage of the selection process.

The notice, signed by Virendra Mani Tripathi, Deputy Secretary of UPPSC, affirms that this step is taken in public interest and to enhance the accessibility and fairness of the examination process.
Candidates preparing for the UPPSC RO/ARO Typing Test 2023 are advised to practice using both Kruti Dev 010 and Mangal (Inscript) fonts as per their convenience. The Commission will soon release detailed guidelines or a mock test environment to help candidates familiarize themselves with the interface and font settings..
