Supreme Court Notifies Benches for Partial Court Working Days from 26 May to 13 July 2025

Registry to Operate with Revised Timings During the Summer Period

New Delhi, May 16, 2025:
The Supreme Court of India has officially released the list of Benches that will function during the "partial Court working days" between May 26, 2025, and July 13, 2025. This arrangement is made to ensure continuity of judicial work during the summer period when the court generally observes a vacation.

Benches from 26 May 2025 to 01 June 2025

During this initial week of partial functioning, the following Benches will operate:

  • Chief Justice of India and Justice Augustine George Masih
  • Justice Surya Kant and Justice Dipankar Datta
  • Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sanjay Kumar
  • Justice J.K. Maheshwari and Justice Aravind Kumar
  • Justice B.V. Nagarathna and Justice Satish Chandra Sharma

Benches from 02 June 2025 to 08 June 2025

The following Judges will preside over matters in this week:

  • Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice Satish Chandra Sharma
  • Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah and Justice S.V.N. Bhatti

Registry Timings During Partial Working Days

The Supreme Court has also specified working hours for the Registry staff during this period:

  • The Registry will remain open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for all officers and clerical staff.
  • For Group-C (non-clerical) staff, the working hours will be from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • The Registry shall remain closed on all Saturdays (except 12 July 2025), Sundays, and public holidays during this period.

This notification ensures that the judicial process remains active and accessible during the summer break, allowing for urgent hearings and maintaining administrative continuity.
