In a significant move to empower legal minds with real-world exposure to cybersecurity enforcement and policy, the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) has announced paid internship opportunities for undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD students for the Summer Internship Programme 2025.

📘 About the Internship Programme

Initiated in 2021, the I4C Internship Program aims to provide students from recognised universities and institutions across India with hands-on experience in combating cybercrime. The internship will expose participants to national-level initiatives, investigation frameworks, and data protection mechanisms.

💸 Stipend Details

  • Undergraduate (LLB) – ₹6,000/month
  • Postgraduate (LLM) – ₹10,000/month
  • PhD Scholars – ₹20,000/month

🎯 Eligibility Criteria

Students pursuing:

  • LL.B (3-year or 5-year programs)
  • LL.M
  • PhD in Law or Cyber Law-related fields

All applicants must belong to recognised universities/institutions and receive a signed and sealed application endorsement from their Head of Department (HOD).

👩‍💼 Internship Duration & Intake

  • Duration:
    • UG & PG students – 2 months
    • PhD students – 4 months
  • Intake:
    • 25 Undergraduate Interns
    • 15 Postgraduate Interns
    • 10 PhD Interns

🏛️ Work Exposure & Field Visits

Interns will gain insight into I4C's seven verticals, including:

  • National Cyber Forensics Lab (NCFL)
  • 1930 Cybercrime Call Centre
  • National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB)
  • Cybercrime control rooms
  • Real-time cybercrime tracking units

📑 Roles and Responsibilities

Interns will:

  • Conduct legal and policy research
  • Assist in cybercrime awareness projects
  • Learn trends and emerging modus operandi in cybercrimes
  • Draft research-based reports under mentor supervision
  • Maintain daily attendance and follow strict confidentiality norms

All interns are required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

📝 Evaluation & Certification

Upon completion, interns must submit:

  • A project report vetted by their mentor
  • A presentation before a 3-member committee

Only after the committee's approval will the intern be awarded a Certificate of Completion.
