📅 CLAT 2026 to be Held on December 7, 2025

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has officially announced the date for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026. The exam will be conducted on December 7, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM across various centres in India.

The announcement was made after a crucial meeting of the Executive Committee and Governing Body of the Consortium on July 20, 2025. Students aspiring to pursue UG and PG law programmes in India’s top law schools must gear up accordingly.

📝 Application Window: August 1 to October 31, 2025

The online registration process for CLAT 2026 will begin from August 1, 2025, and will continue till October 31, 2025. Candidates must complete their applications on the official website of the CLAT Consortium within this timeframe to avoid last-minute hassles.

The application form will include sections for personal details, academic qualifications, preference for NLUs, and document uploads.

📚 Syllabus & Other Details Coming Soon

According to the official press release by the Consortium, updated syllabus, detailed application procedure, and counselling process will be announced shortly on the official website. Candidates are advised to regularly check the site for further notifications.

The revised syllabus is expected to retain the core sections such as English, Current Affairs including GK, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques for UG; and Constitutional Law and Jurisprudence for PG.

🎓 What is CLAT?

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national-level entrance exam held annually for admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes offered by 22 participating NLUs and several other affiliated universities/institutions across India.

CLAT scores are widely accepted for LL.B. (5-year integrated) and LL.M. programmes and also used by PSUs for recruitment.
