📢 Applications are now open for the Winter Internship Programme 2025 organised by the Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission (MSHRC).
This is a prestigious opportunity for law students who are passionate about human rights and wish to gain practical exposure in the functioning of a statutory human rights body.
🔹 About MSHRC & the Internship
The Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission has been conducting its Winter Internship Programme annually with the objective of spreading human rights literacy and ensuring awareness of safeguards available for the protection of human rights under Section 12(h) of the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993.
The programme is highly interactive and combines classroom learning, project work, court assistance, research assignments, field visits, and participation in Commission activities.
🔹 Duration
📅 15th December 2025 (Monday) – 9th January 2026 (Friday)
🔹 Eligibility
✔ Students of 2nd & 3rd year of 3-year LL.B. Programme
✔ Students who have completed 3rd & 4th year of 5-year LL.B. Programme
✔ Attested photocopies of mark sheets must be submitted
✔ A 300–500 word write-up on “Reason for joining as Intern in MSHRC” (basis of selection)
✔ Selection based on:
- Average % of the last three semesters
- Marks obtained in the write-up (40 marks)
🚫 Students who previously attended MSHRC’s regular one-month Winter Internship Programme are not eligible to apply.

🔹 Programme Structure
Selected interns will engage in a holistic learning programme that includes:
- Interaction with Hon’ble Chairperson and Members of MSHRC
- Classroom sessions on human rights, report writing, mental health & research methodology
- Assisting the Legal Wing and attending court hearings
- Project work on human rights issues
- Book Review assignment
- Field visits to Jail, Ashram Shala, Children’s Home, NGOs & Police Stations
🔹 Stipend & Facilities
💰 Stipend: ₹2,500 (on successful completion)
💼 Intern Kit: Bag + reading material + stationery
📚 Library access & printing support
☕ Tea / High Tea provided on all working days
📌 Accommodation, travel, and food expenses are to be borne by the interns.
🔹 Rules & Requirements
- Mandatory attendance
- Punctuality and discipline required throughout
- College Photo ID Card must be carried daily
- Black Trouser + Black Shirt or college-prescribed uniform is compulsory
Certificate will be awarded based on: Attendance | Punctuality | Participation | Presentation | Debate | Field Visit Reports & Conduct
