The Shipping Corporation of India Limited (SCI) is a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking under the Government of India and is the country’s largest shipping company.

SCI owns and operates nearly one-third of the Indian shipping tonnage and plays a crucial role in the maritime industry, supporting both national and international trade. The corporation also manages and mans vessels on behalf of several government departments and organisations.

About the Internship

The Shipping Corporation of India Limited has invited applications for its Summer Internship Programme (SIP) 2026.

The internship will be conducted at:

• Mumbai – Head Office
• Kolkata – Branch Office

The programme aims to provide students with practical exposure to the functioning of a leading public sector enterprise in the maritime and logistics sector.

The internship is specifically intended for students whose academic curriculum requires a mandatory summer internship.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Students pursuing MBA or Postgraduate courses in Management, preferably in:

  • Human Resources
  • Marketing
  • Finance
  • Logistics
  • International Business
  • Operations
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Port & Shipping Management
  • ESG
  • Business Analytics
  • General Management

• Students pursuing a Graduate or Postgraduate Degree in Law

• Students pursuing Engineering degrees in relevant disciplines such as:

  • Marine Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Information Technology
  • Civil Engineering

Additional requirements:

• Must be an Indian citizen
• Must be studying at a recognised university or institution in India
• The internship must be a mandatory component of the candidate’s academic programme
• Applicants must submit a recommendation or requirement letter from their university or institution
• Candidates must have secured at least 60% marks in the most recent semester or academic year

In case of grading systems based on CGPA or letter grades, candidates must submit a conversion certificate indicating the equivalent percentage.

Duration of Internship

The internship will be conducted for two months, between May 2026 and July 2026, depending on the academic schedule of the candidate’s institution.

Stipend and Facilities

The internship does not provide any stipend or conveyance allowance.

Additional conditions include:

• No medical benefits will be provided
• No accommodation will be arranged
• No transportation reimbursement will be provided
• Selected interns must bring their own laptops for the duration of the internship
