About the Organisers

IPEM Law Academy, under the aegis of the Laksh Educational Society, is accredited with NAAC grade, affiliated to Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, and approved by the Bar Council of India. The academy offers LL.M, LL.B, B.A. LL.B, and B.Com LL.B programs and promotes practical legal education through moot courts, seminars, legal aid clinics, and institutional visits to courts and Parliament.

About the Moot Court Competition

The 1st Dr. B.S. Goel Memorial International Moot Court Competition aims to provide an intellectually stimulating platform for law students to engage with complex legal issues emerging in the digital age, particularly at the intersection of Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Internet Ethics, and Constitutional Governance.

The moot problem is set in the fictional Republic of Indica and deals with important legal issues such as:

• Cyber harassment and online impersonation
• Misuse of personal data
• Cross-border digital offences
• Right to Privacy and dignity under Article 21
• Scope of Article 19(1)(g) in the digital economy
• State obligations in protecting fundamental rights in cyberspace
• Extraterritorial jurisdiction under cyber laws
• Admissibility of electronic evidence
• Data protection principles
• Balance between technological regulation and individual freedom

The competition integrates criminal law, constitutional law, cyber law, and international law, aiming to develop research, drafting, and advocacy skills among participants.

Eligibility

• Open to students enrolled in 3-year or 5-year LL.B. courses from any recognized law college/university
• Each team shall consist of:
  • 2 Speakers
  • 1 Researcher
