About Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy

The Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy is an independent legal think tank engaged in legal research and law reform to improve governance and laws for the public good. Vidhi works closely with Ministries of the Government of India, State Governments, and public institutions by providing research, policy inputs, and legislative drafting support. The organization also undertakes independent research in key areas of legal reform and public policy.

About the Job

Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy is inviting applications for the position of Research Fellow for its Disability Inclusion and Access Team.

The role involves legal research, legislative drafting support, and interdisciplinary policy work in the field of disability law and policy. This is an excellent opportunity for young lawyers interested in public policy, legal research, law reform, and disability rights.

Eligibility

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in Law
• 0–2 years of relevant experience in:
  • Legal research
  • Academia
  • Litigation
  • Public policy
  • Human rights or disability law
• Excellent legal research and writing skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Undertaking high-quality legal research on Indian and international legal frameworks
• Providing research and legislative drafting assistance
• Conceptualizing and executing independent research projects
• Preparing reports, research notes, presentations, and policy materials
• Coordinating stakeholder meetings and consultations
• Preparing briefing materials and follow-up documentation
• Supporting internal research, analysis, and decision-making processes
• Assisting in fundraising through research, concept notes, and grant materials
• Supporting the team in additional research and policy work
