NO MORE NET EXAM TO BECOME A TEACHER ?

➡️ As per 2025 draft regulations, if you have a PG degree (NCrF Level 6.5) with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in disciplines such as Arts, Commerce, Humanities, Education, Law, Social Sciences, Sciences, Languages, Library Science, Physical Education, Journalism & Mass Communication, Management, Drama, Yoga, Music, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Other Traditional Indian Art Forms like Sculpture, you must qualify in the National Eligibility Test (NET)/SET/SLET to be eligible for appointment as an assistant professor.

➡️ However, for appointments in Engineering and Technology departments, if you have a PG degree (NCrF Level 7; e.g. M.E., M. This aligns with the AICTE requirements for entry-level appointments in engineering and technology disciplines.

➡️ In all the above disciplines, if you have a PhD, you become eligible for appointment as an assistant professor without needing UGC-NET.

➡️ However, for subjects such as Drama, Yoga, Music, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Other Traditional Indian Art Forms like Sculpture etc., applicants with a UG degree and professional attainments are eligible for appointment as assistant professors.
