26 International Students Show Interest in Allahabad University PG Admission 2025
Domestic PG Application Process Completed; Foreign Student Applications to Start Soon
Prayagraj, May 2025: The application process for postgraduate (PG) admissions at Allahabad University (AU) has been completed for Indian students. Now, the university is preparing to start the application process for foreign students.
This year, a total of 26 international students have shown interest in getting admission to Allahabad University through the Government of India’s “Study in India” portal. Last year, only 7 foreign students showed interest, and only 3 of them joined. The number of interested international students has now increased four times compared to the previous year.
Foreign Students from Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Nepal
The students who applied are from Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Nepal. All the applications from Bangladesh are from Hindu students. Each student will receive a 12-digit unique ID number, which will be used for visa processing and further admission steps.
According to Prof. Vishnu Prabhakar, International Student Advisor at Allahabad University, this year’s interest shows a positive trend and better global response to the university's academic offerings.
Applications through Study in India Portal
International students who want to apply must go through the Study in India portal. The notification for foreign student admissions will be released soon. After that, students can apply via the official Allahabad University international admission link:

NAAC Grading and NIRF Ranking Important for Foreign Admissions
For foreign students, NAAC grading and NIRF ranking are important admission criteria. Generally, foreign students are allowed to take admission in institutions with NAAC Grade A+, NIRF ranking under 100, or those listed as Institutions of Eminence.
Though Allahabad University does not meet the top NAAC or NIRF standards, it is recognized as an Institution of Eminence, so foreign students are eligible to take admission.
PG Admission Correction Process Completed for Indian Students
The correction window for PG admission applications has been closed. A total of 32,867 candidates have applied for admission to 7,231 seats in 55 postgraduate subjects across the university and its constituent colleges.
The PG entrance exam is scheduled to be held on June 10, 11, 12, and 13, 2025. The detailed timetable for the exam will be released by the university administration within a week.
