NEP SAARTHI Corner: Student Ambassadors Drive NEP 2020 Awareness at MITS Gwalior

Madhav Institute of Technology & Science, Gwalior – A group of dynamic student ambassadors at MITS Gwalior is actively leading initiatives to promote awareness and implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 on campus and beyond. Under the UGC's prestigious NEP SAARTHI program, Parthivendra, Preeti, Atharva, Nihari, Bhumika, and Jaya have taken up the mantle to drive change and educate fellow students about the vision and impact of NEP 2020.

Who Are NEP SAARTHIs?

NEP SAARTHIs (Student Ambassadors for Academic Reforms in Transforming Higher Education in India) are student representatives selected by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to act as catalysts for spreading awareness and facilitating the implementation of NEP 2020 in their respective institutions. These ambassadors are tasked with mobilizing peer engagement, conducting outreach activities, and acting as a bridge between the student community and institutional reforms.

Leading Change at MITS Gwalior

The team at MITS Gwalior has initiated several student-centered campaigns and interactive programs to bring NEP 2020 into mainstream campus discussions. From hosting interactive seminars and debates to organizing orientation sessions on Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), Multidisciplinary Education, and Holistic & Multilingual Learning – their approach is both inclusive and informative.

Each of the SAARTHIs brings unique strengths to the initiative:

• Parthivendra is known for his leadership in organizing digital literacy drives and awareness webinars.
• Preeti leads peer counseling sessions that explain the benefits of skill-based education under NEP.
• Atharva contributes by designing NEP-themed newsletters and visual content for wider outreach.
• Nihari focuses on community outreach and coordination with local educational bodies.
• Bhumika is working to promote gender inclusion and holistic education aspects of NEP.
• Jaya is spearheading a campaign on flexible curriculum and the credit transfer system.

A Weekly Glimpse into Their Journey

To keep the student community and stakeholders informed, MITS has launched the “NEP SAARTHI Corner”, a weekly update space where activities, insights, and achievements of the NEP SAARTHIs are highlighted every Sunday. This initiative aims to foster transparency, engagement, and inspiration among the student body regarding educational reforms.
