UPSC Declares Final Result of Civil Services Examination 2025; 958 Candidates Recommended for Appointment

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially declared the final result of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025. The result comes after the completion of the written examination held in August 2025 and the Personality Test (interviews) conducted between December 2025 and February 2026.

Based on the combined performance in the written examination and interview, 958 candidates have been recommended for appointment to various prestigious services including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and other Central Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ services.

Total Candidates Recommended

A total of 958 candidates have been recommended across different categories. The category-wise distribution is as follows:

• General: 317
• EWS: 104
• OBC: 306
• SC: 158
• ST: 73

The list also includes candidates under the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) categories.

Reserve List Maintained by UPSC

As per the provisions of the Civil Services Examination Rules 2025, the UPSC has also prepared a Consolidated Reserve List of 258 candidates. The category-wise breakup is as follows:

• General: 129
• EWS: 26
• OBC: 86
• SC: 8
• ST: 6
• PwBD-1: 1
• PwBD-2: 2

An Extended Reserve List has also been maintained by the Commission in accordance with the rules.

Vacancies Reported by the Government

The Government of India reported 1087 vacancies across different services. The service-wise distribution is as follows:

• Indian Administrative Service (IAS): 180
• Indian Foreign Service (IFS): 55
• Indian Police Service (IPS): 150
• Central Services Group ‘A’: 507
• Group ‘B’ Services: 195

These vacancies include 42 posts reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).

Appointments will be made based on merit, service preference, and availability of vacancies, as per the rules governing the Civil Services Examination.
