Office of Justice K.V. Viswanathan Invites Applications for Judicial Internship from August 2026
The Office of Hon'ble Justice K.V. Viswanathan, Judge, Supreme Court of India, has invited applications for its Judicial Internship Programme commencing from August 2026. The internship offers eligible law students an opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to judicial functioning by working closely with the Office of a Judge of the Supreme Court of India.
The programme is conducted on a full-time, in-person basis, with applications being accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis.
About the Office of Justice K.V. Viswanathan
Justice K.V. Viswanathan serves as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India, the country's highest constitutional court and final court of appeal. The Supreme Court exercises original, appellate, and advisory jurisdiction, safeguards fundamental rights, interprets the Constitution, and its decisions are binding on all courts across India.
The internship provides law students with valuable exposure to judicial research, constitutional law, and the functioning of the apex court.
About the Internship
The Judicial Internship Programme is designed to provide practical insight into judicial work and court processes. Selected interns will work closely with the Office of Justice K.V. Viswanathan and participate in an orientation programme covering office procedures, research tools, templates, policies, and professional protocols before commencing their assignments.
The internship aims to strengthen students' legal research, analytical, drafting, and professional skills while familiarising them with the functioning of the Supreme Court.
Eligibility
Applicants must be:
- Students in the second year or above of a 3-year LL.B. programme, or
- Students in the fourth year or above of a 5-year integrated LL.B. programme.

- Internships will be conducted on a rolling basis beginning August 2026.
- Internships will ordinarily commence on the first working day of every month, unless otherwise specified.
Selection Process & Additional Information
- Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
- Candidates are advised to apply at least five weeks before their preferred internship commencement date.
- Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed telephonically or virtually.
- Confirmation of selection will be communicated 2–4 weeks before the internship begins.
- Interns will be expected to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical conduct throughout the programme.
