Legal Aid Clinic Organizes ‘Samagam’ to Transfer Responsibilities to New Para Legal Volunteers

Event marks the ceremonial handover of duties from 2024–25 batch to 2025–26 batch

Prayagraj, May 21, 2025
The Front Office of the U.P. State Legal Services Authority, in collaboration with the Legal Aid Clinic of S. S. Khanna Girls’ Degree College, Prayagraj, hosted a ceremonial event titled “Samagam – Transferring Responsibilities” on May 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM in New Room 4 of the college campus.

The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Riya Mukherjee, Coordinator of the Legal Aid Clinic, and was graced by the presence of Prof. Lalima Singh, Principal of the college, who presided over the function.

Purpose of the Event

‘Samagam’ was conceptualized as a formal and symbolic transfer of responsibilities from the outgoing batch of Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) for the session 2024–25 to the newly appointed PLVs for the academic year 2025–26. The event aimed at appreciating the commendable work done by the former volunteers and welcoming the incoming batch with encouragement and motivation.

The new batch was encouraged to uphold the values of legal literacy, compassion, and commitment, serving as bridges between the legal system and the society.

‘Samagam’ was not just a routine transition but a heartfelt celebration of dedication, continuity, and service. The event ended with a note of gratitude towards the outgoing volunteers and high hopes from the incoming team, reinforcing the vision of “Access to Justice for All.”
