NTA Delays CUET-UG 2025 Schedule, Leaves 14 Lakh Students in Confusion
New Delhi, May 5, 2025 – Just a few days before the start of the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduates (CUET-UG) 2025, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has not yet released the detailed subject-wise schedule, causing stress and confusion among over 14 lakh students who have registered for the exam.
CUET-UG to Begin on May 8, But No Schedule Released Yet
The CUET-UG exam is scheduled to begin on May 8 and continue till June 1, with papers to be held in multiple shifts at centres across the country. However, as of May 4, students still do not know their exact exam dates, shift timings, or test centres.
This delay is unusual. In past years, the NTA had released the subject-wise timetable and city intimation slips at least 10 to 20 days before the exam began, helping students plan their travel and revision accordingly.
Students Anxious and Unprepared
Due to the delay, students are facing increased anxiety. Many are unsure which day their subject exam will be held. Those who need to travel to other cities are also finding it hard to make transportation and accommodation plans.
Coaching centres and student groups have also raised concerns, saying that the uncertainty is affecting students’ mental peace and last-minute preparation.
NTA Promises Quick Action
The NTA has said that it will release the city intimation slips and admit cards very soon on its official website – cuet.nta.nic.in.
- The city intimation slip will mention the name of the city where the candidate’s exam centre is located.
- The admit card will have important details like exam date, shift timing, subject name, and instructions.
Still, with only a few days left, students and parents are urging the NTA to act quickly and avoid confusion like previous national-level exam issues.
CUET-UG: One of India’s Largest Entrance Exams
CUET-UG is one of the biggest entrance tests in India. Over 14 lakh students have applied this year for admissions to central universities and many other institutions. The exam includes multiple subjects and is conducted in phases.
For such a large-scale exam, clear communication and timely updates are very important. The delay by NTA has once again raised questions about the preparedness of the examination body.
As the countdown to May 8 continues, students across the country are waiting nervously for clarity. The NTA must release the detailed schedule immediately to reduce confusion and help students plan properly. Until then, lakhs of students remain in limbo, unsure of when or where they will take one of the most important exams of their academic journey.
