Record-Breaking Registrations for PG Admissions at Allahabad University for 2025-26 Session
Over 61,000 aspirants register; Final submission by over 31,000 candidates
Prayagraj, May 21:
The admission process for postgraduate (PG) courses at the University of Allahabad (UoA) has witnessed overwhelming enthusiasm from applicants for the academic session 2025-26. According to the university’s Admission Cell, a record-breaking 61,231 candidates had registered online by 5 PM on the last day of application (May 20), while 31,519 applicants completed their final form submission.
Higher Turnout than Previous Years
This year’s registration figures have surpassed those of the previous two academic sessions. In 2024-25, a total of 58,920 candidates registered and 35,673 submitted the final application. In 2023-24, the number stood at 54,212 registrations and 31,248 final submissions. The admission director also indicated that applications continued to be submitted until midnight, suggesting a further increase in the final count.
Correction Window for Applicants
Candidates who have made errors in their application forms will be given a chance to rectify them. The university has scheduled May 22 and 23 as correction dates for applicants to make necessary edits to their submitted forms.
Around 7,000 PG Seats Available
The university, along with its affiliated colleges, is preparing to offer admission to approximately 7,000 seats across various postgraduate programs. The entrance process and subsequent seat allocation will be managed centrally.
Policy Changes in Professional Courses
This year, several significant changes have been introduced in the admission policies of specific professional courses. For B.Ed, M.Ed, MBA, and MBA (Rural Development) programs, the university has discontinued the weightage for NCC and Sports quotas. Furthermore, the sports quota criteria have been revised to include a physical fitness test as part of the eligibility process.
With record participation and new policy reforms, Allahabad University is gearing up for a competitive and transparent admission season. The enthusiasm among aspirants reflects the university’s enduring appeal and academic standing at the national level.
