National Award to Teachers 2025: UGC Urges HEIs to Encourage Faculty Participation

New Delhi, June 5, 2025 – The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a notification urging all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to encourage their faculty members to apply for the National Award to Teachers 2025, an initiative by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
This prestigious award recognizes exceptional and exemplary contributions made by teachers in higher education institutions and polytechnics across India.

🎖️ Award Ceremony
The selected awardees will be honored by the Hon’ble President of India on 5th September 2025 in New Delhi as part of the Teacher’s Day celebration.
📢 UGC Guidelines for HEIs
UGC Secretary Prof. Manish R. Joshi has directed all HEIs to take necessary steps to promote and facilitate participation of eligible faculty in this initiative.
