📌 ABVP protests against the fee hike

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Prayagraj Mahanagar unit, has raised strong objections to the increased fees of the BALLB (Hons.) course at Arya Kanya P.G. College, Prayagraj.
A delegation from ABVP submitted a memorandum to the college administration demanding an immediate reduction of the “unjustified” ₹53,000 fee.

🎓 ₹8,000 higher than other affiliated colleges under Allahabad University

According to ABVP, all colleges affiliated with the University of Allahabad charge ₹50,000 for the first year and ₹45,000 from the second year onwards for the BALLB (Hons.) self-finance course.
However, Arya Kanya P.G. College is charging ₹53,000 for the third semester — ₹8,000 more than the university-approved fee structure.

💬 “Same university, different fees — this is injustice” : Prateek Mishra ‘Suraj’

ABVP Prayagraj Mahanagar Minister Prateek Mishra ‘Suraj’ said,
“When all affiliated colleges are under the same university and offer the same course, charging different fees is unjust. Considering the financial condition of students, the college must immediately reduce the fee to ₹45,000.”

He further added that educational institutions should aim to serve society through education, not operate for profit.

⚠️ ABVP warns of agitation if fees not reduced

The student body warned that if the college administration does not take prompt action to reduce the fees, ABVP will be compelled to launch a student movement in protest.

During the memorandum submission, ABVP Mahanagar Minister Prateek Mishra ‘Suraj’ was accompanied by Aman, Vidit, Rahul, Abhishek, Ambuj, and other student activists.

🏛️ ABVP demands a uniform fee policy for all affiliated colleges

ABVP has also appealed to the University of Allahabad to ensure a uniform fee structure across all affiliated colleges so that no student faces economic discrimination.

This initiative by ABVP is being seen as a significant student welfare move, raising serious questions about transparency and uniformity in the university’s fee system.
If the college administration fails to act soon, the issue could escalate into a larger student movement.
