📰 About the Programme
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has officially opened applications for its PAID Winter Internship Programme 2025, inviting law students and postgraduate scholars passionate about human rights advocacy and legal research.
This prestigious internship aims to nurture young minds through hands-on exposure to policy-making, human rights issues, and engagement with senior NHRC officials.
🎓 Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Students who have completed 3 years (VI Semester) of a 5-year BA/BBA LL.B. course and are currently in 4th or 5th year.
- LL.M. students are also eligible.
- Candidates must have secured at least 60% marks in Class XII.
📘 Structure of the Winter Internship Programme (WIP 2025)
The programme offers a rich blend of academic learning and field exposure, including:
- Classroom sessions & interactions with Hon’ble Chairperson, Members, and Senior Officers of NHRC.
- Research Project Work on contemporary Human Rights issues.
- Book Review and Film Discussion activities on critical topics such as Child Labour, Anti-Trafficking, Rights of the Elderly, Health, and Education.
- Field Visits to institutions such as Police Stations, Jails, NGOs, Parliament House, NGT, NCW, NCPCR, and the Supreme Court of India.
💸 Stipend & Benefits
- All selected interns will receive a stipend of ₹12,000/-.
- Certificates of Participation will be awarded based on performance in attendance, discipline, project work, and book review.
- Additional cash prizes of ₹15,000, ₹10,000, and ₹5,000 will be awarded to the top three groups for Research Projects.
- Top performers in the Book Review and Declamation contests will be rewarded with books of their choice (up to ₹1,000 each).
🧾 Application Procedure
Interested students must apply online only through the NHRC internship portal.
Applicants are required to upload:
- Attested scanned copies of mark sheets from 10th standard onwards (including all semesters of graduation and current course).
- Statement of Purpose (SOP) detailing their motivation for joining the programme.
- Recommendation Letter from their HOD/Dean/Principal (as per Annexure I).
⚠️ Applications without the above documents will be rejected. E-mail or postal submissions are not accepted.
