GITAM School of Law Announces 7th Dr. MVVS Murthi Moot Court Competition 2026; Registration Open Till September 25
Visakhapatnam: GITAM School of Law, GITAM (Deemed to be University), has announced the 7th edition of the Dr. MVVS Murthi Moot Court Competition 2026, which is scheduled to be held from October 7 to 10, 2026, at the GITAM Visakhapatnam Campus.
Organised by the GITAM Moot and Advocacy Committee (GMAC), the national-level moot court competition will be conducted in offline/physical mode. The event is being organised in association with SCC Online as Knowledge Partner and SCC Times as Media Partner.
The competition is open to students pursuing three-year and five-year LL.B. courses from recognised law colleges and universities across India.
About GITAM School of Law
Established in 2012 at the Visakhapatnam Campus, the School of Law is a constituent institution of GITAM (Deemed to be University). The institution focuses on combining academic rigour with practical legal education and aims to prepare students for the evolving demands of the legal profession.

GMAC organises various internal and external moot court competitions, providing students with opportunities to strengthen their legal research, memorial drafting, writing and oral advocacy skills. The committee also facilitates guidance and networking opportunities aimed at helping students develop their professional careers.
GITAM Moot Court Competition 2026
The 7th Dr. MVVS Murthi Moot Court Competition 2026 will focus on the evolving landscape of criminal law under India's new criminal law regime.
The moot proposition features a complex factual scenario involving issues such as homicide, criminal conspiracy, electronic evidence, forensic science and procedural safeguards.
According to the organisers, the proposition has been designed to challenge participants on both substantive and procedural aspects of criminal jurisprudence. It will provide law students with an opportunity to undertake extensive legal research, prepare written submissions and demonstrate their oral advocacy and analytical skills.

GITAM Moot Court Competition 2026 Prizes
Participants will compete for several cash prizes and individual awards.
- Winning Team: ₹50,000
- Runner-Up Team: ₹25,000
- Best Memorial: ₹10,000
- Best Speaker: ₹10,000
- Best Researcher: ₹10,000
Certificates of participation will also be provided to all registered participants.
Apart from the competitive experience, the event will provide participating students with an opportunity to interact and network with leading legal experts and professionals.
Registration Fee
All participating teams are required to pay a registration fee of ₹3,500, excluding GST.
The registration fee must be paid through the prescribed online payment link on or before September 25, 2026.
